Day Skipper

This theory course is a comprehensive introduction to the chart work, navigation, meteorology and the basics of seamanship for the Royal Yachting Association Day Skipper Shorebased Certificate. Some practical sailing experience is desirable as a prerequisite for this course but it is by no means essential. The South Downs College fee includes all the required RYA course material.

Navigation instruments and the RYA Navigation Handbook are available from the tutor.

The RYA Day Skipper course (Nav 1) course will start on September 25th (Monday) at 7pm at the Denton Island Centre, Newhaven.
